Education
My experience with the education system in Boston spans all levels, as a student, an educator, and parent. I believe that our teachers, students and parents deserve an environment that is safe, and supportive, in ways that are not traditionally considered. I will aim to support teachers, as a priority, initiating from it a platform for teachers to voice their needs safely and confidentially to improve their working conditions. Students and families will benefit from the well-being of their teachers, and schools will have the safe spaces needed to support their families and educators. When our teachers are well our students will be better served. I will partner with afterschool programs and provide additional support to students. As State Representative I will focus on community schooling possibilities to minimize commute times for students, while increasing school time and quality time with their families. I will advocate for an increase in the scholarship budget, for qualifying students to get the aid they need, to capitalize on higher education opportunities.
